2018 Greetings to All . . . er, better make that 2019

Seem to have missed a year (and one wonders how much more we've missed . . .).  The world seems scary.  We're exhausted and discouraged by all that.  Our backyard remains a haven.

Still busy, busy, busy at Jagged Lines of Imagination.  Devoted most of 2018 to watercolor.  Also learned to make paste paper and do Coptic binding. Such fun.  Put all that together and I made a book!

Also the usual -- Grants, Salesforce, Monthly Planet, Facebook, Website.

KITTIES . . . no need to add much here.  Izzy has become the most amazingly reliable little thing.  She wants to be outside, so she's trained us to let her out whenever she wants.  Her training consisted of patiently teaching us we could trust her not to leave the yard . . . mostly.  At night I open the door and say "time to come inside" and she trots right in!

Fantastic hike at Pinnacles in 2018, along with some other bird watching walks with Ann of course, also great birding buddy Dale who has now moved to Canada, sigh.  Sad to say that zero camping has occurred in 2019.

Great adventure for the year: Scamper.  Kitties rounded him up.  I rescued him from them.  He seemed dead, but once warmed up, well . . .   A wonderful 2 weeks of feeding-every-four-hours.  I love love love squirrels.  But in the end he found a spot with a rescue group that could socialize him with other squirrels for a return to the wild.  We miss him.  Sigh.

And another year bringing the Jagged Lines of Imagination/Teen Impact Center message to StocktonCon.  Teen volunteers operate the Kids Drawing Area, where a lot of amazing art is produced each year.

Another milestone event -- 50th anniversary of college graduation.  And another gathering of the Bludgeon Battalion -- 10 friends who met on day one and remain among the most amazing and valuable people in my life.  This was post-grad gathering 3, I think (after getting together in 2000, then 2015, and now 2019).  An intense and wonderful week.

GREAT NEW AUTHORS TO TRY:  Cixin Liu, China Mieville, Tea Obreht

My most recent personal art project, drawing every day.  Took only 3 days off during this 80-day odyssey.
